Iro's Fanfiction

So, at the beginning of this month I posted this blog post, wherein I basically said "Yeah, I want to write this dumb fanfic, but I'll never actually get around to it so I pledge I'll write at least 750 words a day towards it."

Well, I've been doing that. As of this posting, the total word count so far is 28,308 words, which averages out to about 943 words a day.

And most of it is pretty lousy. But that's okay. I expected this and I'm trying to not get all anxious ...

You might remember me from those other blog posts I wrote a couple months ago, where I complained that writing was hard and that all you guys were intimidating me into not writing by being pedantic. Of course, I think we all knew all of that was pretty much bullshit in reality.

Well, you might remember me from such blog posts as "Where Intimidation Meets Laziness", where I went on a silly tirade about being intimidated by the fanbase and what I figured were the expectations for a good fanfic. I touched upon such issues as stealing ideas (perhaps inadvertently), staying true to canon, and representing certain characters in a way that wouldn't end with me being lynched.

That's where I'm dwelling right now.

Perhaps some introductions are in order, or at the very least a summation - a friend introduced me to Fate/Stay Night in 2010, and my interest blossomed from there. I've read Tsukihime and Fate/Zero, though I haven't had the drive to check out Kagetsu Tohya and I'd rather wait for a 100% patch before I venture into Hollow/Ataraxia. I figure the wiki does a good enough job filling the gaps in my knowledge for now.
