Been kept busy by the internship these past few weeks. Started out just labeling vials and occasionally pipetting some stuff, but was allowed to passage cells in a biosafety cabinet last week. And I've done more serial dilutions and made more agar plates of bacteria than I would perhaps have liked. Also I got to observe some surgeries (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, duodenoduodenostomy, etc.) and sit in on a morbidity and mortality conference. On the one hand I was gratified and a bit surprised to find that I'd been accepted into a program I applied for. On the other I was placed in a site for medical research, despite having repeatedly expressed a strong preference for the physical sciences. To be completely honest, I'd never even heard of necrotizing enterocolitis before I received the acceptance. Time to brush up on my bio, which is shaky at best.

So I was assigned a couple of randomly selected questions to survey people with for my statistics class, and I'm supposed to collect responses from as many people as I can.
