  1. We're up all night to get spooky

by , October 1st, 2019 at 09:50 AM (Imperial Privilege)
The upside of working three 13-hour days a week is that I have all of this free time now. That will go away when I go back to school some time next year or in 2021 if I really feel lazy, but in the meantime, I am making the most of it.

I got hired to work a haunted house this Halloween season. I worked a different haunt in a different city a few years ago. This new outfit has a much bigger budget with way more elaborate sets and costumes. I can't wait to suit up and scare the piss out ...
  2. That New Relationship Smell

by , November 11th, 2016 at 02:59 AM (Imperial Privilege)
I know I tend to wax maudlin in most of my blogs, so here's some good news.

I'm dating someone new. So new, in fact, that we are coming up on one month together.

The whole thing really took me by surprise.

We met at a haunted house we had both been hired for as cast members and introduced ourselves in a conversation that lasted maybe thirty seconds. About a week later, we had a five minute conversation. A little while later, she messaged me on Facebook asking ...

  3. My Lack of Self-Confidence Is Really Cramping My Style

by , October 13th, 2016 at 01:58 PM (Imperial Privilege)
It's no secret that I am Mr. Low Self-Esteem. There are reasons for that, but instead of going into that, I'll just bitch about how badly it's screwing up my life lately.

My low opinion of myself has, in the past month, cost me a promotion, a potential relationship and a role in a fantastic show I've been dying to be a part of for the last several months.

Admittedly, it's a part-time job and I'm still fairly new, but the other guy hasn't really wowed me. He's not a bad ...
  4. That Fanfiction Contest I Dropped Out Of

by , March 8th, 2016 at 04:36 PM (Imperial Privilege)
Having fallen into a creative rut born out of depression, I had to drop out of Milbunk's fanfiction contest, but I like talking about pitches, which is why I haunt the idea threads. So let's talk about the two stories I might have written for the contest and still may some day if I can work up the enthusiasm.

The first one was an action-packed day-in-the-life story, where the life in question is Enhance's. He ambushes a Dead Apostle and DAA-in-the-making in a ritzy New York City bar. ...
  5. Wrasslin'

by , October 15th, 2015 at 09:46 PM (Imperial Privilege)
So I've been getting back into the wrestling thing. I grew up watching the WCW/WWF feud before the WCW imploded under the weight of its own piss poor management and too many bloated egos. (Reading up on Hogan and Nash's corruption is almost cartoonishly evil.) I stuck around for a little while after that, latching on to guys like Mankind and The Rock, but tryhard, "edgy" WWF just wasn't my style. You can imagine my culture shock tuning back in years later to the kid-friendly WWE. ...
