Publishing Acceptance For the Win!

So, last night, in a fit of squee, I got an email from Pill Hill Press, the main publisher I've been getting my stuff published by, stating that they've accepted my story "Cautionary Tales" for their anthology Use More Gun. It's their third in their monster hunter anthology series. I got published in their first one, rejected for the second, and did a follow up story for the one that was in the first one and boom accepted.

So some shameless self promotion there.

Also, I read "Anno Dracula" by Kim Newman. Kirean recommended the book to me ages ago and Titan Publishing has been releasing "Directors Cut" versions of the books. "The Bloody Red Baron" was released a few weeks ago (I'm hoping someone gets it for me as a birthday present in less than a month) and then "Dracula Cha Cha Cha" will be released in I think October with the previous unpublished "Johnny Alucard" getting published sometime next year.

Anyway, I read the book and I utterly adored it. There were tons of little injokes and references as well as all the insane detail of the books. The premise is that well, Van Helsing and friends failed killing Dracula and Dracula has taken over Great Brittan. It's better to be a vampire than to be a human, and so on and so forth. Oh, and Jack the Ripper is killing vampire whores.

Excellent stuff.

And I saw "The Avengers". Joss Whedon, I love you even more now.

    Just added "Fem-Fangs" too my wishlist. Will buy on my next paycheck. Maybe. If not then the one after it.

    Yay! Oooh, you'll get to meet Forest in "The Night of the Suck".

    I'm also fond of The Mortuary Tales story and "Leather, Denim and Silver" is a good ride all around too.

    My friend is a Mortician, so I know all about that business. "Leather, Denim and Silver" has an enigmatic title, so I'm curious, though.

    I have friend of mine going for being a Author. Sadly, his story fell-through so he's revamping things or whatever.
