Transmission #3: Nothing to be Played

I dunno.

It's boring. Really fucking boring. I mean, right now, I don't know what to write on this goddamned blog and I'm still forcing myself to write on it. I, at first, figured out that maybe I should post a poem about something. The problem is, aside from that I'm shitty with poetry, what will the topic all about? Nature? Internet? Marisa? Politics? Food? Boredom?

Noooooope.

So I pretty much figured out that maybe I should just write gaming bullshit on this post, like my reaction to very recent Vidya Gaem Awards. My comment will be mainly about how they hated Reddit Gaming Awards for the same thing they did in the damn video. So much for integrity. As expected from /v/. Jesus Christ.

Also, I have a hard time deciding about should I still pursue trying to play Lina the Slayer from DotA, or just stick with Kardel? Also, I don't like Skyrim. Not that I hate it, as I never played it, but eh, I can't get myself to be interested with it. Maybe it's the lore. Or maybe, the gritty graphics. I'd rather stick with Age of Empires 3 or Saints Row 3 or maybe, even MW3, and I think MW3 is shitty. Even Kerbal Space Program or Powder Toy is better. Even better, Dwarf Fortress. Minecraft is terrible right now, and those games from the likes of Kongregate, Newgrounds and Armor Games are much better by a small margin.

Speaking of Web-based games, I never really understood the emerging market for art games. Some art games are acceptable, like A Company of Myself, but lately, I don't see anything good. Especially those games bashing SOPA and PIPA. Shit's overused, yo. And yeah, I'm still waiting for Con Artists' new Last Stand game.

You might scold me for liking zombie-killing games and I have to admit that they are over-saturating the Webgame world or market or whatever you call the choices people have when trying to play at an Internet browser. But get this: I have a fascination for zombie games. I played Left 4 Dead and the sequel, Dead Island, a bit of the earlier Resident Evil (I don't like RE5. I've seen people play it, and I think the gameplay was trying too hard to be hardcore.) and many others I can't remember anymore. But a good zombie game is hard to come by, I'm losing hope for something fun.

And oh, RTSes. My first love in gaming. I still don't like RA3, I was to call it a joke that was not funny, but it would be insulting to jokes everywhere. RA2 was still better, and I think it didn't age too well. I still want some Age of Empires 3. And I want a 4 and 5. Too bad, Ensemble Studios closed down long ago. And Battle Realms, one of the essential games to have on the PC if you are a Filipino, the gameplay's outdated. Liquid Entertainment doesn't seem to want bothering with it anymore.

I've seen people play the Final Fantasy starring Vanille and Lightning. I don't like the story, I don't like the gameplay and I don't like the themes. Looking back, I don't think Final Fantasy's still a cash cow for Square Enix. It's already painful to see something having it's sequel addiction get worse and worse each year. That's a really bad sign of Sequelitis.

And speaking of sequels, is Deus Ex: Human Revolution a good game? I'm also thinking of playing Mercenaries 2. They say it is bad, I saw that it seemed to be good.

To close this post, do you have any good VNs there? I want to play Kana Little Sister, but it dwells on realistic (sort of) medical themes and I don't like that. It seems horrifying for me, ironic that I like a good zombie game. I'm thinking about Little Busters or Baldr Sky. And in what I've seen in conversations, I will not play YMK. Aeka's route will make me go berserk. As in, the same level of repressed rage I will feel when I read 1984. Seriously.

Human Revolution is a pretty solid A in my book. Proper RPG mechanics, good action, a story that's written by actually good writers... I liked it.

    Will take note of that.
