I own an HP laptop, got it on sale for about $750 a year and a half back, it's got a 5650, 8gb of ram, an i7 920 and is all around half-decent in terms of specs.

It breaks all the time. Apparently HP decided to use the shittiest components imaginable in building my computer. Ram sticks fail, cd drive bay won't open, heatsinks somehow managed to melt, battery refuses to charge.

I've sent it in to get repaired like 6 or 7 times already and, each time, it comes back wither still broken or with the monitor cable shaken loose in-transit. Meaning I need to send it back again, and again, and again.

Goddammit

fuck this shit

Next time, I'm getting a Lenovo

    and Lenovos are made in China but manage to have some of the best build quality in the world for laptops

    HP all in one printer/scanner.

    Doesn't like to work a lot even when I have my home's network connected correctly when trying to print.

    And the scanning. THE SCANNING. Do you know almost all HP Printer/Scanner Setups have no SCAN TO COMPUTER OPTION?

    What kind of stupid shit is that!? (You can all say fuck your shit to me when I have a probably a bit overpriced Alienware Laptop. Shove it. I just wanted something I knew would work for my needs and last a long time.)

    Unfortunately, this is common in HP hardware which is the main reason most shops I go to recommend against HP laptops even though they stock them due to some people still willing to purchase subpar stuff. While printers are okay (for the most part) majority of HP hardware tend to breakdown within a few months of use.

    Lenovo is a good choice. Fairly good quality for the price since its design is IBM. Another is Dell, I still use my Dell laptop when I bought it back in 2002 and still works fine baring some battery issues which is easy. It lasted a decade XD more than I can say for my friends laptops.

    Now if you got money to burn try getting Alienware. Not as robust but it is powerful, very powerful and is made by and serviced by Dell so no worries about service

    Not according to most of Beast's Lair. Should've seen the amount of shit I got from just showing a photo I took of mine when I got it in.

    Also apparently, their Customer service is Abysmal. HEY NASEEM

    I was 7 years old 12 years ago, bite me

    I needed a computer for college and HP was having a sale so I snagged a laptop thinking it would be a good idea

    Also, if I want a high end laptop, I'll go with ASUS, not Alienware
