Blogspot #05 - Sophix Tablet...the mystery tablet

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
Hello. I bought the Sophix 7 inch tablet from gamestop for black friday. I had intended on buying a 3DS or a Vita, but I thought, and I thought a tablet would be much more useful for my life then the other two.

And...this is strange. I haven't herd a thing about the Sophix tablet.
Has anybody herd of it at all? I'm looking across the internet...and I'm finding NO infomation about this tablet at all.

If anyone does have any info, can someone please tell me? I'm currently sitting on opening it, I want to see if this thing is crap or not.
It's nearly creepy. A friend of mine is joking there's a demon inside waiting for me, Ala Devil surivior (speaking of, I need to finish that game. About to fuse together a Thor persona/demon).

It's a tablet from a company who's name doesn't even seem to exist on Google.

    (return)

I think its one of those generic tablets, which go for under $80 these days. This is the 1.2 Ghz, 4 GB version?

As in "Sophix 7-inch tablet with Android 4.0, 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB memory, expandable to 32GB, front facing video chat, mini HDMI port for $79.99"

It really depends what you're going to be using it for, though its certainly not the most powerful unit on the market - might work as a bare bones one though.
Probably would have gone for the Office depot Nexus 7 32GB offer myself - $229, myself.

Generic Tablet is Generic to the point of almost being non-existent?

    Possibly.

From my experiences with using cheap tablets in stores they are pretty annoying to use. The touchscreens aren't usually great but I can't say anything about this particular model.

How well does it work compared to the Sophix? Like what would I be capable of running on it? I'd assume you know more about this then me.

I've never had a tablet before, nor do I have a good amount of money to spend. So if I return this, without another to buy, I most likely won't have one at all.

Anyway, I don't think I will keep it. I'll return it, keep the money and wait until I can get that one. Maybe if I have the funds, I'll see if I can do it as a partial Christmas gift (100 and I pay the rest).

I then was planning to return it then get the Motorola Photon Q smartphone, up upgrade from my Samsung Transform. I'd have to play 10 dollars more a month (for that 3G/4G wireless. I got my contract with my Transform just before that fee kicked in) and I'd cost me 99 dollars at a Best buy. Overall, it'd cost me additional 340 dollars for a new phone and new contract.

    *rubs head*

I don't know what to do really. I don't think I'll do that. As much as the transform bugs me, it gets the job done. When I get more money, then I can spend...but when will that even come?
For right now, my dad's right. I probably shouldn't.

And I shouldn't take that money and go splurging on gamestop's buy 2 get 1 free. I really shouldn't either. nor take advantage of that Dishonored and borderlands preorder I still have. I rented RE6, still haven't beat it (blame dark souls). It'd be wasting my money to buy games I won't be playing when I buy it...just gotta remind myself of my Halo:Reach fiasco. Bought Reach at launch, barely put 5 hours into the game, years later.
