Transmission #18: Long Time No Blog, Folks.

Ah, yeah, yeah. The title said it all, I haven't blogged here for a long-ass time, because of some side projects I wanted to focus on, but didn't anyway. Okay, it was my mistake, I'm a goddamned procrastinator. But anyway, it's good to be back to blogging again, even if people don't care about my drivel. You know, I had a lot of blog-worth material in my mind back when I was doing those projects and, while I don't regret making them and they are now finished, I lost those ideas and they aren't coming back, so I'm going to move forward and start blogging again.

Okay, to kickstart this, let me talk about my thoughts. First things first, Pacquiao's loss in his latest match. Oh God, I'm happy he lost, and that was no sarcasm. Really. I was really happy he lost for a reason. What happened might, in all hope I have, wake the Filipinos a step further to the realization that we can't just be basing our "PINOY PRIDE" on something like someone winning a boxing match, beating a world record or having a Filipino becoming famous like Charice or Lea Salonga. This has always been a problem for us, we island people think that were the low down-trodden and beaten country and we can do nothing about but to cling on one man's accomplishments and hope that he's going to pull us up to be respected by the other bigger countries. Yeah, I guess they're forgetting that no matter how much more championships Pacquiao wins, how much more Charice becomes famous or how many records we would break, it doesn't matter because it doesn't pull out economy out of slump, it doesn't stop our politics from being its despicable self as always and, moreso, it doesn't change any Filipino attitudes, really. Even when Pacquiao was winning or Jasmine Trias was the apple of the Filipino eye for world fame, we were still the same country which have a lot of disgusting squatter areas in our capital city, a political system that is run by dynasties and voted by people because they are so popular, a Church who can't stop meddling in politics and having the whole country run by their morals despite the separation of Church and State, an ignorant and gullible lower society and an elitist and still unreasonable higher society who came to tolerate or ignore this country's conditions.

Yes, yes, I know. If don't like what's happening here, then why am I just whining instead of doing something. I mean, there must be people who share my sentiments, right? Yes. But that's the problem, and no, you presumptive bastards, I am not talking of violence or civil war, although that might be needed but I hope not. Really. It's just that, there are a lot of attitudes in our society that might need changing, like the excessive love for instant gratification combined with Conservative morals. Yes. Before this country really gets out of the slump, what we need is some sort of cultural revolution. And culture, I tell you, is the hardest thing to change in a society. And do you know how to change that? Start with the mass media and morals. That's why I want to be a writer, see? I want to write for movies or television, but I think it would be harder than I will imagine it.

But I have a feeling I've already covered this subject matter, so let's move on to the next topic.

And this is about my renewed interest for cooking shows. I remember, when I was a kid, I used to watch cooking shows on the TV and, I'll have to admit, play with a cooking set. Well, that being said, my father was really afraid I'm going to turn gay because of that, (Yeah, he's that kind of guy.) so he stopped entertaining my requests of buying me new cooking sets. Well, years and people have passed. Looks like after all this time of me being interested in many things all at once, that didn't go away. I remember when I was introduced by my brother to a cooking channel in YouTube, Cooking With Dog. And it all went downhill from there, so aside from my subscriptions in gun channels and some minor science channels, also cooking shows, like the after mentioned CWD and Titli Nihaan. And also browsing for Gordon Ramsay's old episodes of Kitchen Nightmares US and UK, as well as The F Word. Yesterday, my papa brought up my interest in cooking again, and he declared that he was wrong in thinking I will be gay. Instead, he said that I just inherited my late grandfather's interest in cooking, because he used to run a bakery when he was still alive, aside from me being an ethnic Kapampangan and our province was declared to be "The Culinary Capital of the Philippines" (Stuffed Frogs and Lizard Stew, anyone?), so I guess it could have been a given. It's another interest in my list, and I sorta feel like it's natural for me. Makes me wonder, will I run a bakery in the future? To be honest, I hope not.

Ah, damn it, a pointless entry as a comeback post. But at least I hope it would jumpstart me again.

Wow. Your last blog post was back when I was still here... Also, if people didn't care about your "drivel", your blog posts would have no views or comments (excluding those shameless individuals who rush to post "first" on everything").

I'm pretty sure that we all run dry of the will to do at various points... Your internal battery just needs recharging, so to speak. Some people just require more charges than others...

And, hahah, Food Network... Had me wanting to be a Chef ^^'
