Help: PS3's Internal PS2 Memory Card Malfunction

Rate this Entry
Alright, need some help guys. Been playing Ar Tonelico on my PS3. It's a PS2 game, so my PS3 is using an internal memory card for it.

There has been problems. Sometimes I go to save, and no data is registered. It used to be that pulling out and trying again would do the trick. At one point my data was corrupted, but because I was still playing I could resave.

Today I set up a memory stick and copied my Ar Tonelico data onto a flash drive.

Now I'm trying to save, but I keep going to a screen that has no saved data, and it won't even let me save over and start new.

Any ideas on how to handle this? I'm enjoying this game and have sank 12 hours into it now, but I really, really, really really don't want to have to start over. It's been nice and novel so far, but I don't want to have to do a retread so soon. Right now my best hope seems to be either keep trying, or pull up that back-up and start from the last save point. Not too far behind, but inconvenient. And ultimately, not a permanent fix if I want to keep playing this game a lot.

Any advice?

never owned a ps3 so all I can suggest is reformatting your HDD

    Marathon the game.

Serious Answer: You are probably better using the back up and restarting from that point on. And pray that you can save =V

Yeah, I'm pretty much going with back-up at this point. Don't think I have much of a choice, I can't figure out another solution. Thanks for the advice.
