Emohawk offends 99% of fanfic writers

People who start fics and then don't finish them are the WORST people. I think the special hell needs to be expanded to include people who don't finish their work. It would be soooooo much better if you just never posted anything at all.*deep breath*There. I said it! I feel better now.

At least in fanfics, the authors just fade into the silence, never to be seen again!
Rather than artists, I think that is really just "people in fandoms" in general.

"I am LEAVING the fandom, don't try to stop me!"
"Please don't go! You're great and wonderful and etc etc etc"
    "Awwwww, okay, I'll stay~~~~~~"

Yeah, I've seen plenty of fanfic authors do that. I'm pretty sure writers in general fit under the depiction of "artist."

As a writer, I refuse to think of myself as an "artist".

"Artists" as term (for me, at least) means lazy, good-for-nothing crowd who are untrustworthy. I aim for better.

You practice a creative form of expression. You are an artist. Give it up. You cannot escape. You can only embrace your fate. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

Sounds like every writer I've ever known.

Artist! Verg is an artist! Dare I say an artiste!

Hey, I am NOT untrustworthy. And my phone can be used to find directions if lot in Japan. That's good for...something...?

I don't blame people for not finishing fics. New ideas start looking better and better the more you write of your old idea, and some day the sheer anticipation of something new just crushes all motivation you had for your old one. Especially if you didn't plan everything out from start to finish.

That's why I plan out from start to finish, my OCD forces me to keep on writing then, even if I throw in a huge hiatus every now and then.

The day I start calling myself an "artist" somebody come shoot my brains off.

    Because fuck artists.

Well fuck you too, you artist of the written word!

Your name is The Artist Formerly Known As Verg from now on.

so, if I am a writer (though thats debatable) and writers are artists, and my last name being what it is, does that make me the artist formally known as Prince?

    That... I...

Not bad, not bad. (I initially parsed 'formally' as a Tobias-brand mis-spelling, then thought it over and realised it was much cleverer than that).

I still prefer that you be called The Artist Formerly Known As Rapebird.

For me, it is procrastination and laziness. If I didn't have that, The Grimore of Akemi Yamase would have been done a long time ago.

But really, it's a real big problem for me, not just for writing, seeping into my life. Hell, I got like 100 games I bought and still haven't touched (I'd laugh...but that's probably more accurate then not), this flaw of not finishing stuff seems to sip into everyth
