It looks like everything has really hit the fan now. Mike has pretty much degraded into exactly what I warned him about. The insane paranoia and mistrust is extremely unhealthy, and I think that the trolls know this and feed on it. They are only able to feed on it because Mike makes it possible with his own actions. His forum is pretty much in its death throes now. And let's not mince words, because it really is still Mike's forum. The official titleship may have changed, but as Mike is the only one with technical knowledge, Mike is truly the one calling the shots. I think it's unconvincing and lamentable that he's chosen to play this little game using Revya as a facade for his site.
And now there's (link deleted to protect a person's privacy - Elf), which a friend from BL just linked me to.
I feel really bad for Revy. I think she needs to realize that it's time to cut her losses and break free of this nightmare. She will never get anywhere on a forum with Mike in it. Between Mike's own regrettable behavior and the tempest of trolls which buzz around him like flies, any thing he tries to do will bring misery to the well-meaning people around him. He once told me that he's been banned from every single forum he's ever been on, and at first I thought that was awful, but eventually I came to understand why.
Revy, you seem like a really sweet girl, and I think you deserve better than what you get from Mike's forum. That place is only going to drag you down and drain your happiness. I don't want to see you feeling the way you've been feeling these last few weeks. Take it from me. I feel a lot better now that I've let go.
Edit: Anyone want to take responsibility for that or are you just passing through?
