Fire Emblem RP update

Rate this Entry
The exact setting for this RP is the continent of Tellius at the beginning of Path of Radiance with the nations of Crimea, Daein, Begnion, Gallia, Phoenicis, and Kilvas, having several starting locations dependent on your class, and possibly any backstory you wish to make for your character(if you need help with this PM me or ask about it in the comment section).

So for anyone wanting to play this you'll need to state your class and any backstory you want to include or I can make something up if you don't have a preference toward any particular class/haven't played Fire Emblem before.

Questions? Comments?

Just putting this here to make it a bit easier.

Still not sure if I want to be a Priest or a Shaman, though...
Noticed you also left out Wolves and Dragons. Not a bad idea, really. Good call.
  2. Kratosirving's Avatar
Yeah, if the plan is for this to be at the start of PoR, then the Wolves don't make much sense, and the Dragons truly are overpowered pieces of shit.

Still though Lyco, thanks for throwing up that list. I might be changing from Soldier to something else though :P
  3. Lycodrake's Avatar
Yeah, Dragons are pretty OP over half the time.
Well, just wanted to be sure I put it up here.
  4. Airen's Avatar
    Myrmidon.

I'll come up with a back story at some point, gotta get back to Fortissimo right now >_>

I think I've decided to go with Shaman, since I'm guessing that the promoted Classes can use Staves, too.

I'm interested but I don't have much knowledge in Fire Emblem.

No knowledge of Fire Emblem is necessary to play and what type of character were you wanting to RP?

Can I get the pros and Cons for each class since I have a couple of ideas just I don't know what will suit him.

    Basic overview then

Myrmidon = Quick and skillful swordsman. Fragile, but good at dodging.
Fighter = Strong and powerful ax-wielder. Usually slow, but sturdy.
Soldier = Decently armored rank-and-file that wield lances. Usually sturdy.
Archer = Weakens and/or finishes foes from range with their bows. Somewhat fragile.
Mage = Wielder of elementals (Wind, Thunder and Fire, also known as Anima) magic that can damage foes from close range or further away. Physically weak.
Light Mage = Commands holy magic to seek and harm foes. Physically weak.
Shaman = Master of forbidden Dark magic, they can deal lots of damage, yet is more difficult to hit with. Physically weak.
Cavalier = Mounted Knight that can has a versatile role in combat, from dealing hit and run attacks to rescueing other units.
Armor Knight = Heavily armored behemoth, these units are slow, but can absorb physical damage like nobody else.
Pegasus Knight = A swift flying unit that can zip behind enemy lines, pierce enemies with their lances and retreat. Particularly resistant to magic. Weak to bows and Wind magic.
Wyvern Rider = A strong flying unit that can both dish out and absorb a lot of damage. Weak to Thunder magic.
Thief = Quick, weak unit that isn't suited for fighting on the front lines (at least usually), but is an expert at picking locks on both doors and treasure chests containing value items.

Hawk Laguz = Strong and proud demihumans that can hit thier foes with great accuracy due to their excellent senses. Weak to bows and Wind magic.
Raven Laguz = Devious and manipulative demihumans that use their superior speed to pelt their foes with numerous attacks. Weak to bows and Wind magic.
Heron Laguz = Frail yet spiritually strong demihumans who can sing Arcane songs called Galdrar to inspire their allies. (think of a Bard) Weak to bows and Wind magic.
Cat Laguz = Quick feline demihuman who pounces upon foes quickly and evade just as well with their reflexes. Weak to Fire magic.
Tiger Laguz = Strong and powerful demihuman who uses their brute strength to rend their foes. Weak to Fire magic.
Lion Laguz = The most powerful of the Beast Tribe Laguz, Lions are physically superior to their Tiger brethren and just as fast as Cats, but are more cumbersome and gain experience slowly.

This is mainly from Fire Emblem canon and stuff, so all of this info may not be 100% correct for everything Yun has in mind for the RP, but it's a good platform to work off of. I'd suggest not catapulting into scripting a character until Yun has all of the rules layed out on the table though.

This is a decent general impression of the classes but don't take them too strictly because I'm not taking a carbon copy of the game's mechanics and using them for the RP.

The easiest way would to determine which class would fit him the best would be to PM/post your ideas.

Hey Yun I just realized this, but perhaps you should add a third race in for PCs to consider, (won't affect classes and such) which would be the Branded, those of mixed Beorc and Laguz blood.

I know that the information on them is rather...vague, but I think it would be a good idea for it to be an option. :/
  16. Lycodrake's Avatar
Well, aren't the Branded basically special Beorc, at least when it comes to gameplay and growth? I mean, we only know of a handful like that, and I'm not sure how that would effect anything...would it make their stats different or something? Not quite sure...
  17. Kratosirving's Avatar
Yeah I know about that but I still thought it might be worth mentioning, especially since this is going to be an RP and not strictly based off of the game mechanics for FE9 and 10. Mainly for character history and/or any relationships they might have to NPCs or other PCs.
  18. Lycodrake's Avatar
Hm, that's true...not sure if I'll do something like that for my character, but it is an option that could add something to it all.

Having your character be a Branded will be an option assuming it fits the character's backstory.
