xm's randomity on Type-Moon and other weirdness

Writing fanfics, among other things

Rate this Entry
For a while, I was blocked on writing my Type-Moon fanfic. I went about a week or so not writing anything. Then today, I load up the text file, and all of a sudden, the words just pour out of me!

I'm getting a better idea of what direction to take Endless Number of Possibilities, especially now that there's only going to be three more chapters. The epilogue is taking good shape. It's not finished, obviously not, but I like where it's going. And I've also started the second to last chapter, where we catch up with Sakura being stranded in an unfamiliar reality. Well, it's not familair to her, but it is familiar to me. Uh oh, I just gave away where the penultimate chapter takes place, didn't I? I'm not that predictable, am I?

But since I'm here, what is it about Type-Moon that makes people wanna write fanfics about it? Okay, granted, some settings lend themselves to fanfiction better than others, but what is it about . . . oh wait. It just dawned on me. Is it because some of the VNs have H-scenes? Is that it? It's all appealing to porno fans? Or is it something else?

[Insert subliminal message here while I break lines]

I should say this in the Dreams and Nightmares thread (especially since I revived it in the current forum), but it relates to you-know-what, so it's relevant to this blog.

In this dream, I'm in my garage, doing something, I don't know what. The garage door is open, when in strides in 4th War Rider. He says to me, "I need to borrow your chariot! It is absolutely necessary!" Or something like that. He gets in, (I drive a subcompact; how the hell did he fit in there?) backs out, and drives off really fast. (Oh, so when a Rider-class Servant drives my car, it suddenly gets 0-60 MPH in 2 seconds!? What a crock of shit!) I walked out onto the street. In the distance, I saw Waver desperately chase after my car, shouting, "You can't just steal people's cars!" And they left. I didn't get my car back.

Oh yeah, you may recall I was not entirely impressed with the Fate/Zero anime. Well, like most of you, I saw the simulcast. I just found out that the blu-ray version apparently has more scenes added to it, scenes that probably improve the experience as a whole . . . maybe? If it's just scenes with more talking heads, that would be bad. But I feel like I got ripped off right now. No, I feel worse than that! I feel angry! Why would the simulcast be an inferior product!? American tv shows (as far as I know) don't have this quality issue! Is this why I felt so gypped when I tried to watch the show!? Have I been missing scenes of Ilya-chan brand kawaii-ness!? What if there are now fight scene that actually feel like Fate action scenes!? What am I fighting for!?
