As of today, November 1st, 2015 I am resigning from my position as admin of Beast's Lair.
As someone you know, Roadbuster resigned earlier this year so this shouldn't really be that much of a surprise. I've been an admin of BL almost as long as I've been married, over 5 years. I've seen the Fall of Old BL (how I miss you) and the rise of this community, and now I think is a good time to bow out.
We've got some great new mods with Seika and mAc, and the community is pretty stable. (I don't know who is going to take my place so please don't ask.)
That, and this has been a very rough year. Road and I were forced to move with like a month's notice do to the house we were renting being foreclosed. I had to give up my dog because the one new place we could find in that short amount of time didn't have enough room for her. For those curious, Freya is safe and happy at my parents.
Then, in the beginning of September, my only grandfather finally passed away.
Yes, Real Life eats at us all, but it made me reevaluate my priorities. Before the UBW anime had aired I was already dropping out of the fandom. I stopped writing fanfic to work on my original fiction and found that, despite some of the stress of writing my original work, it felt a lot more rewarding. I've also been working ridiculous amounts of overtime at the day job (just finished a 6 day 50+ hour work week, fucking joy).
I was ready to quit then, then the UBW anime came out, rekindled my love somewhat, but it just wasn't enough. So I'm stepping down as admin. I'm not going away per say, I'll still pop up from time to time, but it'll be nice to enjoy the fandom again as a fan and not as a patrol force for trolls.

I outlasted Christemo too.
