Well, I'm on vacation, but I just spent essentially the last nine hours trying to get this upgrade done and all the kinks worked out.
To be fair, the forum upgrade only took approximately an hour and a half. That was nothing. Aside from a few files that somehow didn't get uploaded, that went smooth.
No, the forums were fine; the pain in the ass was setting up the new CMS stuff, and dealing with all the things brought on by updated StyleVars for the skin. (Translation: I had to adjust and fix a bunch of files to work properly due to that.)
Still, I think the end result is worth it. I wanted to surprise everyone with a little more than an updated forum, so I bought the module entirely on my own. If Koto and Tobias can chip in towards the forum, I consider this my major contribution.
Thankfully, I've still got a whole week left to relax a bit, and catch up on a backlog of crap. Like a certain fanfic I've been horrible at updating, when I was so good at it for so long.
