Tales of a Role Player who loves F/sN and Sci-Fi (among other things)

...well, okay, short story as defined by the word count maximum for the Writers of the Future contest. The overall word count is about 12k words, and I have to say, that was actually less than I initially was going to write. Of course, I'm going to put more words in before the end of the calendar month, as part of the editing process.

Oh, wait, you want to know what the story is? Well... I was loosely inspired by The Martian, but I never saw the movie, nor did I read the book. I wanted to keep myself unbiased when it came to my writing of this story, so, to keep myself from writing a fanfic of The Martian, I went in blind when writing this story.

...granted, I am still guilty of writing fanfic of things I have yet to experience. Still, I can one-hundred percent say that I never cloned The Martian or anything, since I know absolutely nothing about that media.

Anyway, point being, I wrote an original short story for the aforementioned contest up at the top of this blog post. Hopefully I win the quarterly contest somewhat.
