So I just read some kind of news about a woman who brought 550 cats to her home once, and that made her husband divorce her because he couldn't handle living there with so many cats anymore. He was totally fine with her, the only problem was that there were so many cats he could barely live there anymore. The woman chose her cats instead of her husband.

I don't even know how I should feel about this, my first thought was "YOU GO GIRL, YOU ROCK" then I noticed I'm a horrible being for cheering on the woman when she chose random cats she just picked off the street(or at least I assume so, it only says "YEP SHE ARRIVED ONE DAY WITH 550 CATS") over her husband, who probably did nothing to deserve this. Then again, maybe he was an asshole? Or their love was already so weak it was broken by random cats. Or maybe her cat-love is stronger.

Like, a good part of me is still going "YOU GO GIRL". But still, eh. I love how I only bother to give half a shit about other stuff that isn't me if it involves cats, lol.

And then all of this thinking about those news was invalidated by me looking up pictures of cats swimming in money, I am so easily side-tracked. Cats are probably one of the reasons I can't really stay mad at some stuff. Still, cats and money:

    He probably just couldn't deal with tripping over dead cats.

    Because yes if you have 550 cats you are insane and they are all going to die.

    I don't think I'd divorce my wife if she brought home 550 cats. I mean, that's a whole lotta food. Why would I be mad at her for that?

    Lol at the implications.

    I don't think all of those in one place is a good idea, zoos have probably less cats.

    Cats are going to die or escape after a while. Lack of food, space and stuff. Also cleaning everything they do and having to stand purrs, meowing and assorted cat noises x 550 24/7 would get grating.

    Yep, I ain't blaming the husband. Jumping ship before things get ugly is smart.

    Can't blame the guy 'cause, come on, FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY cats? Don't know why he'd he thought the woman would choose him over the cats though. The lady had FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY cats, take a hint.

    A cat is fine too, but 550? Crazy Cat Lady. Hands down.

    She may be a wonderful, kind person who just can't bear the thought of animals suffering... but there's a limit. Once you pass two, three, MAYBE four, you're officially in weirdo territory.

    I can't say I blame the guy. I don't think most sane humans would be able to tolerate literally half a thousand cats all under one roof. Can you imagine how bad the place must've stunk from urine and feces?

    My best friend once had seven cats at his house - and the smell was awful. Even as mild as my cat allergy is/was, that many set it off, and I quickly learned to adapt or die. Granted, it got me my first longterm experiences with cats' affections - because many of them loved me - but it was still a rough environment. That being the case, not even my imagination can handle the idea of nearly six hundred . . .

    It's not legal, it's not sanitary - and whatever your intentions, it's just as cruel to the cats as abandoning them would be.

    My best friend has roughly 15 cats in his house. We both agree his mom is a crazy cat lady. 550 is absurd. Like, ludicrously absurd.
