It has come to my attention that a public link was shared in a public place not officially attached to BL. I understand that certain miscreants may wish to keep their darker personal lives separate from their private social media accounts. This is "beyond reasonable."

In fact, it's so reasonable that it could be said to make perfect sense. However, if I had meant the opposite of "being reasonable" I would have probably said "unreasonable," but that's just me. Anyway, I agree with internet privacy completely, which is why I choose to use the fucking privacy function that comes built in with whatever dumb shit i chose to slather with my face and updates about my daily life that no one gives a shit about.

See what a huge deal this is? It's so far beyond reasonable that it's practically hyper reasonable.

    Yes clearly it is Mike's fault for not foreseeing that Neir would stalk him for his personal information. That is a completely logical and non-retarded conclusion.

    This, all of this. Mike and I may not always get along but in no way shape or form is he in the wrong on this one.

    The who, when, why is literally irrelevant. This story has only one moral:

    Secure your shit. Block public access to everything. Better yet, ditch the facebook completely if you dont want people finding you online.

    Bonus advice: maybe dont use your first name and date of birth as your username on a public forum about cartoon characters fucking?

    But, what if, and this is just a big if, he has a facebook account to share stuff with friends/family/school etc. And if, another big if, you really don't expect someone to stalk you and do this so you don't secure it. Or, and this is the most important thing here, the facebook account does not have much in the way of personal info, but the intent of the person stalking you is what he is complaining about? I mean I'm just saying.

    Shockingly enough, I do have people who I want to communicate with in real life. I'd just rather keep the two mostly seperate (aside from a few people I actually want to talk to off-site).

    I dunno man, it just seemed like such a good idea at the time...
    My date of birth is not public (although the year is). Leo can see it because he's a mod.

    I admit that, if someone were deliberately saving up all the information they could find on me, they could probably work out who I am, but I didn't expect anyone to go to those lengths.

    Also, I suspect that he may have obtained the information by finding my e-mail address on Milbunk's wiki. It's hidden on there, but since everyone is an admin, he can see it anyway. It's possible he could have obtained the information from some of the mods on here, too (they can see hidden information), but I'd like to think that they'd have more sense than that....

    Yeah, this.

    Honestly, him finding it is not really going to change that much. I suspect most of the information on there is stuff he'd already know (or could have found out), and I don't put my phone number etc. on there. Plus, things like pictures (aside from the profile picture) aren't visible to people who aren't at least friends of friends anyway. But, that doesn't make his intent any less bad.
