The Human Revolution

Now, I am aware that not many people here may know about Deus Ex. These games are awesome.

A game that lets you decide how things should be played out is rare, but in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you can:
  • Punch through walls, jump three metres high, be immune to fall damage and generally go Superman on the unlucky person who shoots at you.
  • Turn invisible, have silent footsteps, run faster, be able to see through walls. Because ninja.
  • See what people are thinking ie. their personality types, how inclined they are to agree with you, if you're going the right way about persuading you. This is my personal preference.
  • Hack your way through, control cameras and turrets to attack the enemy, send massive robots after them. I do this every so often.

The only limits are the situation, environment and your abilities. Other than that, have fun beating/stabbing/shooting/sniping/tranquilising/knocking out and much more to your heart's content.

Do many other games let you do that? And that's a single aspect of it. You won't get bored with this game for a while because there are so many different ways to go about whatever you are doing.

The plot is done well, it will not be anything less of a challenge than it should be on the hardest difficulty, there are more than enough abilities to choose from...

I could talk about Deus Ex for hours. Seriously, though, just go out and buy a copy. Not too expensive to get, and the experience is more than worth it.

Only complaints about it are the endings and the fact that you absolutely must fight the boss battles... even if you were going for a pure stealth pacifist run... but otherwise yeah.

Human Revolutions was great. Did a pure stealth pacifist run as much as the game allows.

    Oh yeah, those were great.
Starting with first Deus Ex, it was awesome. Even now it most definitely can compete with modern stealth/shooter games.
And what can beat summoning 100 cats near water to see them bounce off it?

The second one (Invisible War) was kinda disappointing (for me) - though it surely has some nice cut-in scenes.

I was kinda afraid that HR might be like the second one - getting worse - but that was in vain, I guess. It was great - though IMO it was too console-ized (the 3p-view and "hide behind the corner so it's easier to shoot with controller"). That's just personal opinion anyway.
Well, talking about high jumping and going superhuman/stealth on everything.... [Prototype], anyone? C:
