After some long and considered thought, I figured I need to take a break from writing fanfiction. I think this outing in the contest sort of pounded that last nail in that coffin. Not to say I'm going to stop writing fanfiction all together, especially since there are two (okay three) stories that need to be finished, but I need to take a break from fanfic.

Soooo, like I said there's a fantasy anthology that's doing open calls and they're going to pay $50.00 bucks if accepted. $50.00 bucks for a 10,000 to a 15,000 word story is too good to pass up. So I'm going to try, and even if I fail, it's good practice.

The publisher wants some sort of magical item to have presence in the plot. So I'm going the easy way with a magical (read cursed) sword. Sooo, here's the first page:

I hate to admit this, but I should really write a romance novel. It's something I'm obviously good at.

Just the killer is that I have really no idea for a romance novel or series. Well, I sort of do, but . . . Yeah.

On a side note I'm going to try my hand at writing a Sword and Sorcery fic. The anthology is paying $50.00 per story. Not pennies per word, but actually $50.00 for the whole damned story.

So, I have a problem, or it could be a really good thing, maybe a bad thing for some of my readers.

Last few days when I've sat down to write fanfics have been the last thing on my mine. I finished the one for the contest and I had a lot of fun with it, but when I try to work on H&B and Utopia I can't. I end up working on "Scream Queen" or today I started my story for one of the anthologies I want to try for. I'll try to write for one of the fanfics and it just ends ...

Roadbuster is the most awesome husband ever!

Yesterday he got me a fighting controler because the Fight Stick and I do not mix.

Today he got me ice cream and . . . A PUPPY!

We adopted an adorable Shepard/Lab mix today. She's six weeks old. She is black, fluffy and looks like a bear. And really sweet.

The three names I'm going back and forth about are: Morrigan, Freya, and Neiman.
