lol it's not genetic at all, it just has to do with what you're brought up with and the tolerances that come with that. My dad is pure southern Chinese (the part with the spicy food) from Singapore (hahaha spicy food oh boy) and has managed to break out sweating if he so much as sees spices on TV, let alone actually smell them.

I know there's problems with aborigines following a western diet and I've heard that some races can't process milk beyond weening age. The guy was probably just a retard though.

IRUN: Engineering is overrated, I can't build machines (yet).

On a slightly related tangent (wrt Vigilantia's post), writing characters for a game and coding the game simultaneously is a weird experience - on one hand, you're trying to make "living" characters with depth, and on the other, you're reducing those characters to lines of commands.

When you said you were going to write on how to not write machines for some reason I thought this was going to be an extended engineerial rant on people not knowing hard facts and the science of mechanics and making up implausible contraptions without even knowing how to physics.

Obviously, this was wrong. Mostly because to my knowledge Arashi isn't pursuing a degree in engineering.

The big problem would be the fact that Sakura Con is the week after UW students get back from Spring Break, so I'd be busy with all my new classes for Spring Quarter.

You could always not go to the convention but hang around in Freeway Park that weekend and see most of the cosplayers anyway. The badge is for the events and stuff.
