So I recently got GEB (Godel, Escher, Bach).

There's a puzzle in there that asks you to get the sequence MU, starting from the sequence MI.

The rules are:

You have MI.

a) If your sequence ends in I, you may append U to the end.
b) For any sequence Mx, you may append x to the end, where x is the sequence after M.
c) For any III in your sequence, you may replace them with U.
d) For any UU in your sequence, you may drop ...
