I love this forum. It's one of the only places where a conversation about grammar can derail into one about alcohol than to Canada. And ya, Ontario sucks, i would know, being a Canadian an all, and also, I've been there.

Wait, have you been to Saskatoon, man? The place is called "Paris of the Prairies" for a reason, y'know. Really, really cool place.

But hell, I'll do anythignt o get away from these damned mountains being everywhere. Mountains and trees, just... EVERYWHERE! I live in literally the only flat place in British Columbia and the mountains still are just looming everywhere.

Alcohol sellers are allowed to demand ID if you look under 21. So if you're 19 but don't have the ID to prove it, they can refuse to let you buy. But, no, the actual ages are the ones I've stated.

Christ, no! On licensed premises, it's 16 with a meal, 18 without. And the usual 'it's OK as long as there's supervision' clause applies at home, as long as you're over 7.

Ooh, you can get legally tanked at 19 if you cross a border?! Wow!!

Come to Europe, you Puritans. For crying out loud.

But seriously, I wouldn't doubt it if there's a sort of schism in the language, sort of like the Vulgar/Classical/Ecclesiastical divergence of Latin.

And the funny thing is, many Indians actually speak better English than native English speakers. Due to their being a former colony of the British Empire, they all basically learn a "preserved" form of the language without any modern corruptions.

Another note: English is one of the only languages without a governing authority, and by far the most major; all we have are dictionaries that are ultimately ruled by popular usage.

Ya man, nothing says "FEEL THE RAGE IN MY BOSOMS" like a rant in 1337.
