  1. Science Fiction Physics = Headaches

It's really easy to go, "Fuck it!" and wave your hands all over the place.

Of course, for dedicated science fiction writers, that's just not acceptable. There are many stories out there that are fantastic examples of creative and original methods of coping with the deadly sci-fi problems that come up with the typical settings and situations of the genre. There are too many, in fact, and it's really a bad thing now to cheap out on your physics homework when you're writing sci-fi. ...
  2. Sexy Romans!

Also known as: Five_X talks about his favourite subject.

Why am I doing this? Well, no particular reason. I just felt like educating all you people on a topic that is, to me at least, quite fascinating: sexuality in Roman society.

Now, Roman society in general is really interesting to me, but of course sexuality is a definite part of that. What makes it intriguing, though, is how the Romans viewed sex and sexuality, in contrast to our own, modern senses. A lot has changed ...
  3. Fiver's Age of Empires Blog 3!

Well, just recently I reached a level 25 Home City as Russia.

I fought two interesting skirmishes to get there; the first was on the Northwest Territories map, which is an interesting place with a bit of a naval focus, which I don't usually do as Russia - in fact, I have exactly zero cards from the Harbour. :|

  4. Fiver's Age of Empires Blog 2!

I played a bit of India because elephants are just AWESOME and managed to get my Home City of Delhi to a pretty decent level.

But, I turned my attention to Russia soon afterwards. Can't ignore my main place, after all! I ended up playing another three battles, interspersed by a couple India skirmishes for fun.

The first two battles I'd say were overall stomps. The second one was in California, which is a definite resource-heavy map with gold mines and trees everywhere. ...
  5. Fiver's Age of Empires Blog (A War Story)

Because I just like this game so much!

Okay, here's the scenario: I'm playing Russians mostly, with a currently 13th level Home City. I've got a few good cards, mainly my Strelets upgrading ones (with Standing Infantry and Fencing School cards, all my infantry units train SUPER FAST) and a few resource cards. Nothing too big, at least not at the moment.

I've done about three battles that I remember so far, all on Moderate difficulty: first was a 2v2, which I won pretty ...
