I suppose I should explain - about two years ago, during a physical, my doctor decided that my feet needed a little corrective surgery. Nothing major, or life-threatening, but something that ought to be done. I made an appointment with a surgeon, got assurances, and basically put any plans I had to do major exercise (i.e., to get into shape before applying to the armed forces), or anything else of the kind, on hold until the surgery was done.
