So apparently the news is making the rounds that Whitney Houston died today at 48. It's a shame, sure, but I wonder why people are so surprised by it. Like it's shocking. Like it's stunning. Like she was "cut down in her prime." Sure, 48 is pretty young to die, and it is a shame, but people seem to forget that the woman was really hard into coke for about 10 years. Certainly not perfect.
