Kara no Kyoukai: Near the end!

So I finished part 6 of the KnK novels not too long ago. I was now able to read your spoiler, Dark Pulse, and I am confounded as to why such a change was made. This is freakin' Nasu we're talking about! A guy who's bedfellows with Urobuchi! Why would they axe something like that in the anime, yet keep in other scenes of unpleasantness!? Regardless, I feel . . . apathetic towards Azaka. You'd think someone like me would find her cute, but I don't. The only characters I still like are Ryougi and Mikiya.

This means I started part 7, but of course, I'm not quite close to finishing that yet. Once I do, and then conclude the epilogue, I can join in your discussions about KnK . . . but since said discussions often involve argumentation, I tend to stay silent.

Oh yeah, it has not escaped my notice that Witch of the Holy Night is finally out. Since I can't comprehend Japanese, and since I don't want to spoil myself, I have been avoiding anything involving Holy Night, as I'll call it for short. I do want to experience it someday . . . provided a translation is ever made.

Oh yeah, here's some food for thought. My discussions with a friend of mine of Myanimelist.net has revealed that works of fiction appeal to two sides of me, my superficial side, and my intellectual side. Holy night has intrigued both halves of my psyche, observe.

[Intellectual side] I am curious to see what Nasu philosophizing I see in Holy Night. So long as he doesn't commit Talking Head Syndrome again, I really would like to see what he comes up with.

[Superficial side] Why are the girls' legs so skinny? Noodle-y legs are not sexy! But oh, Aoko's hair is so glorious! IN YOUR FACE, REDHEAD FETISHISTS!

Alas, the prospect of me playing Holy Night is far off.

I haven't read any Nasuverse fanfiction for a while. In fact, I haven't read any fanfiction that wasn't one I'm still working on. Does that make me a bad person?

No. I don't read any of the fanfiction either, since I am also working on my own.

...I plan to finish mine. Really. I do.

I'm kind of trying to work myself up to it again and am succeeding in some small measure (about a thousand words out from finishing the chapter that's been left alone for months now). It helps they chopped our hours down to 32 hours this week, so it gives me a little bit more "breathing room." And, well, of course I'll be done with there in no more than six weeks, as well, which also helps. Though the first two days of this week we got absolutely raped... I'm not looking forward to the rest of it, and if it gets THAT busy I'll find myself back up to 40 hours in short order.

Even if I do begin to crank out the chapters, though, to avoid a double-dip stall, I might wait till I finish them all before I resume posting them.

As for this summer... well, I got a few things planned. That's all I'll say about that.

I also have difficulties with Azaka. Unlike Akiha in Tsukihime she doesn't really have anything going for her in terms of personality (though this might be due to the fact that she doesn't get too much appearance time). She is also an ACTUAL sister (shock, horror, surprise) which means that legally and ethically she stands no chance. Her appearances tended to ruin my suspension of disbelief when I read KnK.

I could do Azaka no problem (I'm talented with the Tsunderes, I'd say) so that's no problem. I've got enough of a personality that I should be able to wing it sufficiently when I need to.

That said, the fact she's an actual sister matters little - she also knows she has no chance against Ryougi. So while she'll get damn clingy around Mikiya - and I'm damn sure he's in more than enough of any fantasies she may have - actually jumping his bones is something she knows she has no chance of. It won't stop her from trying to pry them apart, though, because she does feel she IS better for him than Ryougi is.

Though if Mirai Fukuin is any indication (Why, dear god WHY, was that not the epilogue of the OVA box set?!) Azaka takes being aunt to Mana pretty well. And by that time, she's probably moved on enough that she's found someone else at any rate. After all, there's plenty of other taboo things she can do, even if the person isn't taboo...
