God, Mosquitoes, and Influenza

Why did god create mosquitoes and the flu virus? The bloodsucking fiends and the creeping plague seem to serve no other purpose than to spread themselves around and make us miserable. This is probably not a very sensible description of what these things do, but since I'm drugged to the gills on anti-flu medication that doesn't really matter does it? The flu this year is pretty horrible, and right now I'm running a fever of 40, sweating and freezing to death, and I have no idea where I'm taking this. So, does the existence of such things dispute the existence of a caring God? Right now I'm inclined to put some faith behind the Pandora's Box idea, which has no comparable basis in Christianity but for the existence of Satan and the devils. However, God is omnipotent right? If so, he must have known such things would be created and unleashed upon us. Why didn't he just stop it? In fact, if God is omnipotent, why did he create us imperfectly in the first place? Is there some purpose to be served by making humanity suffer for thousands of years? Atheists need not apply. If so, doesn't that mean he isn't omnipotent, if he needs something to be done but can't do it instantly?

    Why did God do it? Because he loves us all, even the mosquitos. Because God is a massive fucking troll who secretly wants us to suffer.

    Or, more likely, he just doesn't exist. And if he does, he sure don't care!

    And I am supposed to believe that I was born with Meckel's Diverticulum, suffer massive pain for a week or so and get through three operations, including a deceptive one, just to remove it because everything has a purpose. Not to mention my anemia, pneumonia, ulcers, measles, bipolar disorder and allergic rhinitis.

    Blame yourself. Why are you so weaksauce?

    Go eat more red meat and pump more iron to boost your immune system. Also, get more sleep and drink less booze.

    Maybe start using some hand sanitizers. Flu more often transmit as aerosol, or through contact, rather than bugs (thus more flu during winter, when people are staying tight indoors and rubbing against each other).

    For now, stay hydrated and sit it out, lol.

    Well if you're looking for a religious reason, you're sick because you're being punished for something. Also, it's not a virus, it's god magic. Claiming it's caused by viruses is a lie from Satan. Repent, sinner.

    Maybe He's just bored, and watching a flawed, mortal race struggle to survive in the world He created in his spare time is one way to keep Himself entertained?
