Running SAI and WACOM driver off of a computer without admin rights

Rate this Entry
Does anyone know how I can run paint tool SAI and an Intuos 3 Wacom tablet driver on a computer that I do not have administrator privileges on? I need to work on my drawings during the enormous breaks while I'm in school, but unfortunately it seems Paint tool SAI needs to scan every computer it's used on at least once to confirm if earlier versions or plugins were installed, so I can't use it without admin rights.

Is there any way to make SAI/the drivers work on an external computer anyway without admin privileges? Like disabling SAI's automatic scanning properties or forcing the Wacom driver to run from an external device?

Eeeh, tricky. The drivers maybe, SAI not so much. There are ways to bypass the admin restriction, but they count as hacking, because if you could, you'd be able to install a virus without admin rights, etc.

You might have better luck if you try a different program than SAI, some of them don't need admin rights and can be run standalone.

Any way to use those 'count as hacking' methods you mentioned while disallowing viruses from starting? It has to be SAI, there aren't any other programs out there that can do what is allows for brush strokes and colours.

If the school computers have an unprotected bootloader, you could always run a custom OS from a pendrive, but getting caught might get you in trouble

SAI doesn't run on Ubuntu, I already thought of that. Do you know of any other custom OSes that SAI can run on?
