More outlining

Bounded/Fate completely outlined down to the section titles. A hint of what's to come:

Spoiler:
The swordsman gave a faint bow, polite and reverent. “It is a beautiful thing, to face such a radiant opponent.”

Ryougi would have rolled her eyes if they had remained open. “Radiant. You’ve got a strange mind.”

“I find the simplest things to be the most beautiful. A blossom first sprouting from the buds of a tree, the cool winds of fall sweeping the leaves away—and a swordswoman that changes with just the touch of steel in her hands.”

What I See outlined in general. It's actually a really simple outline because everything is a character beat. There's a bit of action at the very end, but otherwise everything is just talking heads. Kind of gets hard to write action about a dude that either can absolutely kill something or absolutely cannot in one hit. There's no real middle ground and nothing within the plot could actually stop Shiki if he felt like it.

Still trying to figure out everything for The Hearts of the Suffering. I have an outline for the beginning and the end, but not the middle. I know what I want in general for the middle, but not specifically. I'm also reluctant to fully commit to some ideas because of OC issues--I'm not sure what I'm keeping there and what I'm discarding.

Dismantling the Great Grail story stuff. Don't click if you plan on actually reading this and not spoiling yourself.

Outline so far. Some info repeated from earlier, but I do that. I've got like seven separate files with notes.

Prologue:
-A breakdown of the factions from Rin’s perspective. Rumblings of factions that want the Grail power despite the report that it is tainted. Her and Waver’s decision to go dismantle the Grail system. Luvia insisting to go as well. The first situation. One of the factions begins work on summoning within Britain itself. Rin is already in Japan setting up, so Waver has to go—but Waver has less straightforward combat ability. They contact a third party. The faction begins their preparations.

Ch. 1:
-Upon arrival, Waver defeats one faction member, only to find that they’re staging this summoning as a team, agreeing to battle side-by-side until the last group is defeated. He is unable to stop the second summoning. Shirou shows up and stops the second person, but the ritual has already begun and the Grail has activated. He is forced to summon “in their place.”

Ch. 2: “The Once and Future King.”
-Saber materializes, possibly in that exact moment of her death, the “continuation of the dream.” She has Avalon now, but as Bedivere has tossed Excalibur, she has no offensive power except the ability to put Invisible Air over any other weapon. A reversal of the Fate relationship: Shirou is now the sword, Saber is the scabbard. We start to see the differences a decade has put on Shirou, who, while the same person overall, is certainly a broodier, less blatantly optimistic person, though also different from EMIYA.

Ch. 3:
-Rin and Luvia in Japan contact Waver and Shirou, trying to assess the situation. The Grail is active, though the idea that there might be people who want to dismantle it has apparently gone somewhat public: multiple boundary fields now protect the entrance to the undermountain and keep them from entering. Rin, as Fuyuki’s overseer, is detecting intrusion of various magi into her territory. All while Rin and Luvia are arguing the entire time, Sakura trying to act as mediator.

Ch. 4:
-Waver heads to Japan. Shirou and Saber rush off to stop another summoning.

Ch. 5:
-Waver sets up shop, musing over 4th War memories. Rin, Luvia, and Sakura start feeling around for the situation. Shirou and Saber stop the next group’s attempt at summoning; Saber has mixed feelings seeing Shirou in action, as he is both significantly more capable, though the trade-off is that she is certainly no longer his out-and-out protector.

---

No outline for middle section. Shirou and Saber run around attempting to counter magi attempting to summon more Servants and fully kick-start a sixth war from occurring. The problem they find though is that with Saber present, it's clear the Grail will start distributing Servants on its own if the others don't hurry. Too, they know Saber will have to go as well. Potentially, Shirou will also have support, mirroring Kiritsugu having Maiya and Iri, though the difference reflects how they certainly are different people.

Waver, Rin, Luvia, and Sakura deal with the magi moving into Fuyuki. Whether gathering information on their desired summonings so Shirou and Saber can take them out, or actively seeking to find their hideouts and neutralize them or keep them from even entering Fuyuki in the first place. Waver primarily focuses on disabling the boundary fields surrounding Enzou's entrance so he can get to the Great Grail, but finds that magi much more powerful than he are involved--whether Acht, Zouken, or some Association bigwig I've yet to decide.

One of the magi groups present is definitely going to be a mirror to the Rin/Sakura relationship, a juxtaposition of what could have come of the sisters had they both remained Tohsaka. It will be different to the Touko/Aoko relationship as well: instead of a strained relationship, they get along perfectly, but one is entirely a tool of the other. Luvia may be the one to help set everyone straight here, for the hilarity and the fact that she's an outsider looking in.

---

-Waver confronts magi army before Enzou. “But you don’t know how to work together, how to share in a goal. You all want things for yourself and will climb over the one on your left or right to have it. You're no army." Alluding to Ionioi Hetairoi. Also charging in without thinking of it much. Pure cussed (literally!) willpower and his own wits rather than overall power of other magi. Volumen Hydragyrum changing into something to reflect that?

-While Waver moves to dismantle the Greater Grail beneath the mountain, Shirou and Saber have to enter Angra Mainyu from the “top” so to speak. They confront Angra within.

-Confronting Angra. Takes Iri's form since Saber is familiar. Talk of Illya's fate. SxS voluntarily take on "evils of world" and going on what Kotomine said about it wanting to be born, they accept that it wants to come out and that they will face it. Metaphorically taking on the evils and removing burden from Angra.

“The Hearts of the Suffering” (music inspiring scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3UAZ0kCUWI)
-Accepting, Iri/Angra spits them back out, then disseminates into the real world as HA wolves, possibly as shades of 3rd, 4th, and 5th War Servants (data collected like how Angra is able to produce HA loop world)? Possibly even more powerful and in multitude because of mana overflow from another activation of Grail without use. They face it on Ryuudou--once again their "place of victory" while magi are forced to watch. Shirou starts UBW incantation. As they fight the shades, he is continually making swords for Saber to use. Magi held there watching. Rin, Sakura, Luvia, others with them. UBW activates. Kinda did something thematically similar in Escaping Fate, where UBW stands in for metaphorical world where sins are carried. Only, now, imagine that Shirou, the "owner" is not making everything inside for himself to use. Now he has a "wielder" with him.

-Have to close the Grail mouth. Can’t Excaliblast it from the outside without Excalibur and even if Shirou could, too drained from UBW. Saber volunteers with a Traced Caliburn to go in and close it from the other side. Tells Shirou she will be waiting.

-Now all the “evil” is on the outside. Shirou and co still have to deal with it. UBW no longer an option since it was dismissed to allow Saber to get into Grail mouth.

[Possible idea: as they are at Ryuudou near the lake, talk of fairyland and gifts from said spirits. Go hardcore on messiah metaphor and have Shirou granted the "blessing of the faeries" like Saber, walking on the water? Granted a sword like Saber, Galahad, and them as in the legends? Instead of Excalibur, the "wish of glory," something more like the "desire for justice"?]

Epilogue:
-Rin in the clock tower, alluding to the “Hero with No Name.”

Meanwhile, crossing fingers to watch F/Z with my school's anime club this year. We vote on stuff to watch for the quarter tomorrow (or...later today, I guess.)
