Media classes have ruined me.

Now every time I try to watch or read something I end up sitting there wondering what kind of message it's trying to send, and whether or not it challenges stereotypes or enforces them. No seriously, I watched Rizzoli & Isles last week and then spent the day after trying to figure out if the show enforces or challenges female stereotypes.
Oh man, I should totally do a rewatch of some of my old favorite classic series (here's looking at you, Utena). That would be a lot of fun to do now, since I'm being taught how to critically observe media and its messages.
Speaking of Utena, on Fellows: I am so sorry for the massive delay with the updates on that one. School's been keeping me really busy this semester with the new set of courses and the major change, and my biggest issue with the next chapter is introducing Utena to the expanding FSN cast. I'm a bit unsure about how she'd react to Saber and Rider, and how they'd react to her.
But that aside, yeah, media classes. Now I can't stop seeing messages and stereotypes everywhere. On the upside, though, I prefer it to the science and math courses I used to have to take.
