It's Christmas as the hospital
im laying on a bed
I have to pay
so I can stay
where nobody can get fed.

Everywhere families are grieving.
its a fabulous Christmas Day
I can hear the sound of people heaving
What a wonderful holiday!

Its Christmas at the hospital
my family is all around
but not in my room cause mom's here to
and her stomach started to pound

You might here a code going blue
or a final wish being said
but try not to think of who is praying
because you never know who soon will be dead!

It's cold underneath the sheet
But peek out from under those heater covers
And wish there was holiday meat.

    Cliff notes, mom went to the ER with some pretty nasty pains in her stomach, and while I was here, they thought I had an infection and quarantined me for a while in a separate room till they cleared me. I composed that while I waited on the results, back in mom's room now.

    I've had a hospital Christmas and they're never fun. Hope all turns out well.

    Surgery went well, though agonizing pain levels in ICU. She is sleeping now. I sent the rest of the family home to get a few hours of shut eye while I stick around.

    Mom is swimming in narcotics so she won't notice until the painkillers start wearing off. Some long term comications are likely, but the first day went as well as one could reasonably hope, under the circumstances.

    Yes. Best wishes my friend. I'm glad she's going to be ok. Quite the man to stick around for your mom like that.

    I hope you enjoy what's left of this year, and I pray your mom has a speedy recovery.
