Just finished the game, and what a damned good game it was.

As I said multiple times over my stay in BL and some of you might already know, I'm too poor to own consoles so I played the PSX version on ePSXe instead of the PSP remake. Now I can see why people like this franchise so much. Megami Ibunroku Persona was awesome (as a story, because the graphics lacked a bit, hehe) and Innocent Sin was a really great leap in quality regarding everything.

The art is awesome when compared to the stiffiness of the first game, and so is the soundtrack. The gameplay also became a lot better, with the removal of guns so that the characters only have one weapon (and it's also two less things to worry about when buying equipment), the battle system by itself is way better and the characters walking and jumping over the screen makes it seem like a real fight is happening. My greatest joy is the end of the Spell Card fusion system and the improved contact options when dealing with the monsters.

The plot is also way better than the first one, despite the fact that the first Persona will always have a special place in my memories. Character interactions are more dynamic and some elements are so WTF-inducing that make it even more awesome (really? Hitler coming to Japan to fulfill a Mayan prophecy because a rumor brought him back to life? HITLER BOSS FIGHT? FUCKING AWESOME!).

The drama CD also made me lol so much you guys have no idea. For cryin' out loud, the CD is powered by gay humor (and that's not a bad thing at all)! Now, I'm currently watching a Let's Play of the PSP remake of Persona 1 so that I can see the plot without any mackere and finally see the Snow Queen Quest. I plan to start playing Eternal Punishment as soon as I can (in fact I even have the ISO file in my PC already).

Interesting fact about this is that I've been shipping Tatsuya/Jun before even I started playing the first Persona. I blame the artist of a webcomic I read for being so vocal about shipping them

And yes, I did grind all the way to level 99 and killed everything in Xibalba with Armageddon
