Mage Association (Others)

A self-defense organization formed by practitioners of magegraft, transcending nationality and genre. (Of course, this is in name only.)
Its mission is to manage, conceal, and develop magecraft.
It reserves the use of force to protect itself from entities that threaten its existence (the Church, other mage organizations, and individuals who hunt what they consider taboo). In order to promote the development (or regression?) of magecraft, the Association set up research institutions and established laws that forbid the criminal use of magecraft.
The headquarter of the Association is in London, England. It is also called the Clock Tower.
The Association is divided into three departments. Besides the Clock Tower, there are also the "Giant's Cellar" in the Atlas mountains in Egypt, and the "Sea of Astray", the integrated association in Northern Europe. The "Sea of Astray" was the original Association that predated the Clock Tower, and had ceased communication with the Association since the Clock Tower became the headquarter.
Also, the Association deems the Magic Foundation of the Middle East and the philosophies of magecraft from the continent* as incompatible with its teachings. Conversely, the other two schools also reject the Association.
Furthermore, as Alba stated in the story, the mage organizations in Japan did not join the Association.
*Given the context, "continent" probably means something like the Far East. No other interpretations seem to make sense.

Probably talking about China. Japan does call it that sometimes. Unless he was writing from the Clock Tower's point of view in England and meant mainland Europe, but that would be silly. So, so silly. Just forget I even said anything.

I always wonder about it, but is there a mage organization in the Americas? If I don't know, I just never looked hard enough I guess

We're too busy being eccentric rapists to organize any kind of community structure. So sayeth the racist mushroom.

Until there's a sequel involving the states, then we find out how organized they are there.

For all we know, how magic and the supernatural played a role in the history of the states. It's such a world-building thing it has to happen eventually....
    ...eventually.

Oh well, until then it's that beloved fanon and plotbunny material that we the fans can go nuts with.

Any Sacrificial Altars involved with the occasional Hypnotized Slave Labor/Test Subjects?

Maybe instead of a community structure, we have a collective with a similar interest of staying hidden, we don't tolerate each other because fuck that. WE ALL ARE THE MASTER RACE

And I just single handedly described American Mages people. Unless I forgot to mention how we do alot of our Magecraft intoxicated.

It's either the lateness of the night, the exhaustion I've had from work, the ibuprofen I took, or the Llama riding a giant asparagus wearing a pink top hat on the other side of the couch, but I can't tell if you're playing around (I assume), being serious, or something-ing something.

(I have nothing to add or say here. I really don't. So, you all get Llamas riding a giant asapargus wearing a pink top hat. I hope you don't mind the madness, I don't know where it's coming from, I feel loopy tonight)

Nah, they probably do the Master and apprentice route, figuring there doesn't seem to be all too much of that here in the nasu-verse. This could be a cool experience, seeing the world of magic and supernatural from a totally different view. Maybe a swap of how the European mage's association view things I think. Instead of a focus on genetics and the like, it's more of being your own man and bringing yourself up and making yourself strong, not being born strong. The Waver and the Marisa Kirasame style.

Yea, I beatya most are drunk. But I do assume they won't be around all to long. Being drunk off your kister and experimenting with the prime elements don't end well I'd assume.
    Assume at least.

Nah, the entire country is a lawless hellhole inhabited by 300 million Sancraid Phahns.

I am way to tired to make a quip to that.

So....pick one out of the hat and well, I don't know, throw it in your bagpipe or whatever your cultural equitant is.

"We won the war", "That's what she said", "Compared to whom?", "We won the war" and "Insert snarky stupid response that'll get a stupid snarky that I'm to lazy to come up with"
  11. Mcjon01's Avatar
Actually, could you go ahead and give me the American cultural equivalent of "throw it in your bagpipe"? Because I have no idea what that means.

    Nick: Neither do I.

Nick 2: Then why say that?

Nick: That is a good question.

Just out of curiosity, is there any reason that "the continent" couldn't refer to sub-Saharan Africa? Because Eastern mumbo jumbo seems to do pretty well with western magecraft. And jungle bogey might be something weird. Alternatively, India?

In the UK "the continent" is indeed mainland Europe but yeah it makes no sense for this.

Well, maybe it does, it could refer to the Sea of Astray? Going by the context of the sentence it probably means the Middle East, even though that's not a continent.

The Middle East is mentioned as "the Middle East", though.
And it's almost certainly China. Even arai thought it was China. If you go to the Magic - Spells section of Fuyuki he wrote up a whole spiel on it under the China heading.
