Raven's house of Gaming

Got something in the mail today.

And I am excited to play this:

Ever since I played Hotel Dusk I had been waiting for the sequel to come out, but sadly, the developer Cing going bankrupt meant that this would never come to the US and my lack of knowledge in the language of the proud yamato people meant that I would never play this game.

Good enough for me I was wrong.

While browsing Amazon for DS games I never got the chance to play (recently got a 3DS, and didn't have a DS) I stumbled across the european version, I imported that sucker immediately and I will hopefully get on with it as soon as I have some time.

The story starts in the 1980's, a year after the events of Hotel Dusk with our hero and former NY detective Kyle Hyde getting fired from Red Crown, the two-bit "sales company" he was working for, since he's fired he goes back home to Cape West apartments where he finds out about the apartment building is to be demolished and all tenants have to leave art the end of the month, this is not Kyle's lucky day, except for the letter that advices him to find out the mystery behind Cape West apartments and to look for an object known only as "The Scarlet Star". Thus Kyle, who can't leave well enough alone decides to find out the mystery and our game then begins.

I've yet to get anywhere beyond the first hour of the game but from what I'm seeing the game has a lot more color and the whole paper cutout look the characters have looks better than before, we'll see what happens to the story later on.

The only thing I've been able to garner from my initial assessment is that the story does take place over a longer period of time than Hotel Dusk (I am already on the second day, heading towards the third) and you can still fuck up by not knowing when to stop or what to ask.

I don't know if we'll get any cameos from Hotel Dusk characters, but it would certainly be nice to see Mila one more time.
