One week from today (April 5th/6th) I will be travelling away on an aeroplane to the distant, geographically confused land of Turkey. Of course, I won't be the only one going there: I'll be joined by my wonderful girlfriend, EXiku - this will be the first time we actually meet in-person!
We'll be spending most of our time in the city of Istanbul itself, though we've got plans to go around and see nearby places like Ephesus, Pergamum and Gallipoli. About a week will be spent in the ex-Ottoman Empire, and then another week will be spent in jolly England, where EXiku will show me the sights and sounds of her homeland, effectively giving a colonial savage a tour of the mother nation.
In England, we'll go up north to the frigid lands of Leeds, where there's the Royal Armouries Museum. Also, we'll be going on a pretty train trip together, which will be nice. EXiku will be showing me her archery skills, as well, and we'll go south of London to Portsmouth in order to see the legendary ironclad, the HMS Warrior, as well as the HMS Victory, the ship of Horatio Nelson himself. I imagine we might be able to take time to see other places in England, but we'll see when we're there. Most of the time will probably be taken up by me watching her play through the Mass Effect trilogy and forcing her to draw, anyhow.
And if you're wondering: of course, of course, I'll be taking pictures. Every few days or so I'll update a blog on here with nice photos (by myself and EXiku), divided into two sections: one written by her, and one written by myself, each with our respective pictures.
If I'm rather hard to get in contact with over the next few weeks, this is why! I'll definitely enjoy it, and I hope you all will enjoy getting to see the pictures and stuff, too.
