xm's randomity on Type-Moon and other weirdness

I'm a rambling man

-So this year's E3 is over. Actually more interesting than the last couple of years. For one thing, I have zero interest in getting an Xbox One. After all, I already have a 360 for offline gaming! (headdesks) If I cared about the Smash Bros. series (translation: If I owned a Nintendo console newer than a GBA), I'd be psyched for Megaman appearing. Also wished that FF15 would be coming out for the PS3, since, well, I don't have a PS4, but whatever. Speaking of announcements.....

-I played Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 back in the day. I enjoyed them. I don't think they're outright masterpieces, but they are solid games. But, you wanna know what my favorite part in both KH titles is? 100 Acre Wood. I don't know exactly why, but there's just something magical about interacting with Winnie the Pooh (and Tigger too!) (Why do I always have to add that?) and indulging in that world's antics. Sora fits in really well in that setting, too. If KH3 brings back 100 Acre Wood, and it's just as memorable, I may look into that.

-But fortunately, I still have old PC games to fall back on! Guess what my second purchase from GOG.com was. Unreal Tournament 2004. Oh yes, I played the demo of this and the first UT way back when they were new, but only now, do I actually have the retail version of 2004. My favorite mode is Bombing Run, the manliest version of football ever! There's many other games on that site, but I gotta control myself; can't afford to be a spendthrift right now.

-Speaking of games, the demo for the newest Project Diva is out on PSN. I gave it a whirl.....and Miku kicked my ass! God damn, this game is hard! Even on easy, it's hard! How is anyone supposed to get a "standard" grade on normal and above!? But hey, if you like Vocaloid music, it's worth looking into......assuming you have a lot of skill at rhythm games.

-Oh yeah, one last thing, back to UT. You know what I love most about UT2004? YOU CAN CARRY MORE THAN TWO FUCKING GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNS! I dislike how many shooter developers keep using the two weapon system from Halo, not realizing the Halo games are designed so you don't need more than two weapons at a time (barring rare circumstances), and instead, think, "Oh, that's just what the gamers want!" or "Oh! Carrying more than two guns is unrealistic! We can't make something fun if it's not realistic!" Sure, there are a few other games that make it so you don't need to be a walking arsenal to succeed, but more often than not, game makers just love imitating the superficial aspects of megahit games, without bothering to understand the deeper meaning behind mechanics like that. And that's terrible.
