And so begins my days as an hourly wage-slave working for 2 bucks an hour. Why? Because it's a fortune 500 company and it'll improve my chances at getting an internship at somewhere significantly better (and closer to home) next summer. Also, because my Chinese is kinda shitty so I've come here to improve it.When I first landed in SHanghai, we were delayed half an hour due to heavy air traffic. When we started escending, I thought we were spending an awful lot of time in cloud cover. Turns out, it's smog all the way down. Smog so heavy and thick that I could swim in it.15 hour time difference is killing me. I wake up at 4am beause that's 1pm in Cali, and then I pass out at 8pm because it's 5am in cali. Internet connection is horrible, not because of teh router but because my laptop won't connect for whateevr god-awful reason. My Nexus 7 works fine though, which is odd.Spent my first two days wandering the streets in a half-awake state yelling at foreigners in perfect english to freak them out, mostly beause half the foreigners are from Europe and speak worse english than some native Chinese.Newspaper/Magazine stands stock an awful lot of manga. I saw newtype, somethign with oreimo in front, what I believe to be a shoujo manhua magazine, and a few others. Also, my friend was right, nearly every girl in shanghai is either a 6 or a 7.
