More Stuff I Hate

I think I might make this a thing. Not regular updates, because that would be dumb, but just rage blogs. Those are things, aren't they? I feel better when I type about stuff I despise, so I might as well keep going for my loyal reader base of a half dozen bored idiots (just kidding, you guys are cool). Now I've come to realize that there are things in this world that are worse than mountains and skiing.

Allergies. Yeah, that's right I'm getting personal now.

Shit sucks. I'm not one of those guys who's allergic to a food, so I don't know how you feel, but at least you're capable of avoiding the substance capable of making your life a living hell. Me? I've got the seasonal shit. Specifically, those horrible few weeks at the end of August and beginning of September when my nose suddenly decides it's gonna turn into every single video game sewer level combined. I'll spare you any more details, but suffice to say, it's the worst. It's probably Ragweed or something. I wouldn't know. All I know is that a few years ago the beginning of school somehow got even worse, and stayed that way.

Now you may be thinking: Blobs. Broski. You sexy bastard. What's the big deal? What's a runny nose compared to turning into a human snowball, or breaking your neck on top of an icy hill? Sure it's annoying, but at least you're alive!

I'll tell you right now. Sometimes I think I'd prefer death to this. At least it would be quick. At least it would end. But what I have to put up with now? Nah, that shit doesn't stop. 24/7 I'm stuck feeling like my face is rebelling against me, and no amount of nose drops and medication will help me escape. It's slow, agonizing torture, and I don't like it.

The worst part is that I'm supposed to somehow ignore the large scale battle going on in my head and continue with daily life. I spent all of my time at Uni today stuffing toilet paper in my nose instead of listening to lectures, and any spark of creativity that I was planning on putting into my writing or role-plays was instead shuffled into my desperate attempts to alleviate this agony. Nothing got done, and if things don't change, nothing will. Except rage blogs. Those are probably here to stay.

So yeah. Worse than mountains.

Anyway, post yer allergies to make me feel better. Thank ye very much.

A fellow sufferer here of rhinitis + food allergy. Hang in there, man. At least you don't have both at once.

Dust allergies for me. What makes it worse is that stuff is everywhere. But, it's not so terrible all the time - just completely terrible some of the times. I can hardly even breathe straight when it's at its worst.

I don't have any allergies. My life is pretty great tbh.

No allergies that I know of, though when I was in my teens, I used to get absolutely vicious bouts of hay fever that would have me sneezing dozens of times in a row until my chest hurt and could be reliably triggered by licking the roof of my mouth.

But that seems to have stopped about seven or eight years ago.

Aye, I hear ya brother. It almost feels like just picking up a knife and stabbing your nose or something, eh?

As someone that has to pop allergy medication for nearly the entire summer, I can relate. Allergic towards some kinds of pollen from multiple plants, I think.

I have few allergies, but the ones I do have will put me in the hospital or kill me fairly quickly.

I've got year round allergies- I have to take medication pretty much every day so I can function. I get sinus headaches that rival migraines in terms of pain. In fact, they can get so bad you can see the swelling of my sinuses on my nose and forehead on bad days. They can also make me run a fever too.

Pollen, dust, mold, mildew, I've got them all. Ironically, I feel the best in the Winter when most of the stuff the triggers my allergies are dead.

I also have asthma too, its not too bad, but I can't use bleach or any harsh chemical cleaners because it will set off an attack.

Oh, I have two food allergies too. I'm allergic to tomatoes and chocolate. Consuming raw tomatoes can send me into anaphlaxis and just touching tomato juice/seeds/paste can make me break out in hives. I can eat cooked/process tomatoes in small amounts, but very small. If I want Pizza? It has to be light on the sauce, like barely any on there. Spaghetti? Out of the question. Also means I have to be really careful if I go to Mexican restaurants too.

    Chocolate gives me the squirts.

Oh, and I cannot eat green beans. Period. I just throw the bastards right up after I manage to swallow them.
