Huh, ambiguities? What the hell does that even mean? BF, you so CRAZEHHH.
Well, Meriam-Webster defines ambiguity as being "something that does not have a single clear meaning".
So what does this mean to me?
Well ambiguity is an important concept in the world. It allows for people to hide the truth(not necessarily a bad thing) and say their opinion without deriving it as fact. Unfortunately this skill seems lost on most members of BL and statements that are vague are seen as 100% fact.
So give us an example of words that we think mean something when their meaning is actually ambiguous, smartass!
Gladly. I shall list a number of words and say what they don't mean. Hopefully this way your confusion shall be alleviated.
Maybe /=/ definitely
Almost always /=/ always
Might /=/ 100% true.
Probably /=/ true
Probably not /=/ impossible
Sometimes /=/ always
Sometimes not /=/ impossible
Think /=/ fact
Huh? Really? I was sure that was what those words/phrases meant. Are there more words that can be used to create even more complex ambiguous ideas than those?
Not really, it's hard for one or two words to be anything more than exceedingly vague or exact. There are phrases though which can be a tad more complex, like "IIRC", which as of course you know means "If I recall correctly". Now I know what you are thinking, "IIRC" means they know what they are saying is true but unfortunately you are wrong. The word "if" is the most important part, it means that they think it's true but it may be incorrect because they consider their memory faulty.
Another more complex ambiguous idea would be the use of the question mark. "Stop ranting BF. You're a faggot!" is quite clear in its meaning; BF is a ranting pile of wood. But "Stop ranting BF? You're a faggot?" does not mean the same thing; BF may be ranting and he may be a lovely British meatball.
I've heard Nasu is very ambiguous about things. BF can you explain this with your absolutely wonderful knowledge of ambiguity?
While I do have theories about how things work, unfortunately I am unsure of the answer to this question. So I shall use the master of all things Nasu, the mighty Mcjon01 to answer your question.
How come no one explained this to me before?
Either you speak english as a second language and have difficulties with nuances or someone did explain it to you and you did not understand it because you are most likely autistic.
This is such a strange idea, people can say things without being sure that it's true or believe the answer isn't black and white. Are you sure you aren't a talking piece of shit?
Am I sure? No, unfortunately there are many unknowable things about the world we live in but I can say that on the balance of probabilities I am most likely a human.
You mad bro?
HULK SMASH!
No, seriously, why post such a long-winded rant?
Well, the answer is quite simple. I believe it will help people on BL. So many arguments start on BL because people want their opinion to be true and therefore deny the idea that other people can be unsure of the answer or that they are working on the balance of probabilities. I know it's a strange idea but it is true.
What's this got to do with Spinach?
This is BL, everything has something to do with Spinach.
