CDProjektRed ain't greedy. They released a crack for their own game, when DRM was causing problems on release, then patched the DRM out. Probably the best developer I know(business practice wise)
They also created GOG
Define "Greedy". The very reason game companies do games is, in core, money. If asking money for their games is being greedy then yes, all of them (with some indie/freeware/enthusiast exceptions) are greedy bastards. If you mean "greedy" as "unnecessarily locking up their games and spending majority of their resources fighting against people who want to try their games for free or thinking up new ways to prevent that, putting shitload of obnoxious ads in their games", then only EA comes to mind, or mobile game producers - as an iOS developer, every single client asked for 2-3 advertisement frameworks embedded in their game.

I mean the second one. The first definition of greedy in your post... Nah. I don't think that's greedy at all. EA and Capcom come to mind when it comes to being greedy. Now that I think about it, From Software ain't greedy. I just wanted others' thoughts on this. Because trusting a game company like From makes you have additional faith in their games. Not to say they're games are not already awesome.
