I mean I don't like Sakura but it fits her whole traumatic background. You don't really expect someone like that to be outgoing.

The problem with it is that Koto isn't totally right about that. She spent time in Normal depressed, but it was also said that she eventually became comfortable being around people again and relearned magic on her own, to eventually take an apprentice, meaning she didn't waste her entire life like what is commonly thought. It's not really hard to imagine she would take time to herself after an event like that. It wasn't just "hey my love is gone, what do I do?" It is "a person I cared about died for me and I don't really know what to do about it, nor how to make amends, nor what to do with my life from now on". Making it just about Shirou kind of misses exactly why she is in that funk for so long.

Sure, you can say that she could have moved in with Rin, but honestly, can you say assuredly that she was ready to do that, Rin loves her, but....honestly the relationship will be rocky seeing as how things went in the route. Coupled with the fact that Sakura kind of can't go to therapy given her special childhood might be a tad hard to explain to a therapist, what with keeping magic secret. Something many dissenters don't really consider when they say "hey, she's terrible, she should have just moved in with Rin!" without realizing that isn't necessarily a solution to the problem. Given she has a good relationship with Rin's granddaughter, I'm sure the two reconciled fine, so she didn't become a total hermit. She mused on hoping Shirou would come back, but in her internal monologue she knew that wasn't going to happen.

And with True, she worked freaking hard to get Shirou back and helps him recover, which is far and away from saying she relies on him, and she does her own thing outside of taking care of him. I find something to like in both endings but prefer True because there is more potential there. New teacher for Sakura, she's working hard while dealing with her issues (though if you wanted to be a devil's advocate, you could say she is pushing herself in her work and taking care of Shirou to get her mind off those issues and you would have evidence for that).
