Youtube has Defaulted to the HTML5 Video Player.

I noticed the change today was Permanently when I was watching some videos, I didn't even switch on the HTML5 player, and the button to turn it off on its related page is gone for good.

I don't use Chrome, but there are plenty of solutions to circumvent this of course.

Firefox still doesn't have good support of the player, so if you want to default to flash, here's a link. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...-video-player/

It was pretty gay that I could only get up 720p and the player layout was terrible. My opinion at least.

(Btw if I'm wrong and it's only happened to me, it might be because my Firefox autoupdated lol)

    It's the new standard of HTML Language, the code that makes up web pages, soon to replace the one we're currently still using.

    It has built-in features that make Flash obsolete, most notably, the ability to play videos without flash on the net. You can see this in the new fangled web players that play the new video codec WebM like on 4chins.

    HTML5 can't go higher than 720p of quality. (Well this is Firefox for me, I don't know if that's true for Google Chrome, since it's more supported there) It's only benefit is that it buffers better than flash I believe?

    That's the thing though. I was playing a youtube video, one I've watched like 10th time just to see the difference. I noticed that after 13 minutes in, the audio started to become out of sync. I tried out this plugin and it fixed the problem, I'm sure it has something to do with the HTML5 thing. It's a damn shame what Youtube did, since now I can't play the videos I'm watching in 1080 without the use of this plugin.

    Eh, I don't think my screen is high enough quality to know the difference between 720 and 1080 anyways.

    Yeah the same thing with html5 happened to me, thought it seems to only default to that with some videos and not with all, thanks for the plugin tho
