Still, I think Liam O' Brien did a good archer. Hearing Shirou though made my ear twitch

Koto, it's bad. Really bad. He sounds like a country bumpkin.

Seriously, they should have had fun with this cast. Saber could have had this English accent, Lancer could have been rolling R's like mad etc, but nope. Gil really sucked. Kotomine was okay. Rin was serviceable. I thought Archer's was decent until I heard the Japanese.

Oh dear. I just looked up a dubbed episode of YouTube. Ugh.

Reminded me (again) about one of the big reasons I don't watch dubs. I honestly cannot stand the voices that about half the female American VAs put on. Is it honestly that hard to just talk normally, without all this overly-breathy crap? (Or, if that's honestly an actual accent, why does so much of the animation industry apparently use it? Besides it paining my ears). And Kotomine failed hilariously at being dramatic. I admit to not being well enough versed in American accents to be able to tell that Shirō sounded like a bumpkin, though, so that was one thing that didn't bother me.

And wow! I'd forgotten how little budget DEEN apparently had for this show. Saw an action scene, and it was appalling.

They Obviously Put all the Budget into the Archer Vs Berserker moment...
