How unusual

Does anyone else actually talk to their characters? Like, literally ask them what they plan on doing when they can't think of where to take the story? Because I'm having difficulty making Tamamo go away after she answers my question. She's asking for an alternate ending for her story arc in my fanfiction... I'm finding it difficult not to listen to her...
