... Back home after a 10 day stay.

I knew I'd cry.
I knew I'd cry hard.
I thought I was prepared enough.

But it seems like I cry that much more and longer each time I have to return home after we get to see each other. Twice so far in long, ugly jaunts. I suppose it's a testament to how happy that week was, so I should be grateful - and I am - but that doesn't make the initial snapback to everyday life easier to endure. I desperately, childishly dreamed of not having to leave, knowing that would never be an option. It's probably another 3-4 years before we can stay together in the same place, between visas and money and my health.

But goodness, was taking the trip worth it. It was a rough start since I was sick for the first few days and had to be mindful on spreading it, especially since I was staying with my boyfriend's family and his mom has a weak immune system. This was by no means a cute look. I was able to shed it by the fifth day, but wearing it for half the trip, even to bed, was beyond aggravating.

I didn't end up with a lot of interesting pics, since the trip was more personal than tourist, but I did end up with a lot of personal family ones that I'll treasure. The traditional yuletide tree full of Ratatoskr at the city forum/mall was a personal favorite, though. I have no idea why it was decorated that way but they were truly both plentiful and unusually sized.

We also went to a very lovely/romantic classical music concert that was held open-air at the Botanical Garden with the Culiacan Symphonic Orchestra performing in the original languages. They performed some arias from Carmen, The Barber of Seville, the Marriage of Figaro, and some others. It was a magical evening since I've never gotten to hear them performed live before. Truth be told, he isn't that into classical, but he got our tickets for me, and I loved it. ^^

Also this was the single most blatant product name I've ever seen.

...In short, it was a happy, wonderful time despite some setbacks. Back to the shadows on the wall for another few months.
