Why is Fortnite called Fortnite when it has nothing to do with fortnights?

You can see the numerous mode options available for play whenever you boot up Fortnite, whether on a PC, PS4, or other device. The "Save the World" option was what the original concept of Fortnite was leaning towards - a large multiplayer co-op game where you complete mission objectives, build bases and forts so that when nightfall came, the monsters would spawn and players would fight back the hordes to either defeat all the monsters until dawn, or protect an important device. Battle Royale mode was originally introduced as a mini-game for people to play for a variety of reasons, including the fact that you had to buy Fortnite to play battle royale mode (among other things).
Save the world mode was the original Fortnite, which involved building "forts" and surviving for two weeks against monsters and zombies.
You must survive for 14 days in the Save the World gamemode, popularly known as a fortnight.
Not only are those who say that a fortnight refers to a two-week period (14-day period) true, but there's a little more to it than most people realize. Consider the fact that monsters emerge at night under the moon (moon+star=monstar=monster + ALL come from the Moon). All Moon phases last 28 days (2x14). All negative moon energies are reflected back to Earth, causing disruption and/or influencing human behavior. Wolves and dogs howl, for example.
This corresponds to the 28 days in each house of the Mazzaroth (Zodiac). I hope this helps to clarify things for you! Cheers!
The game's name comes from the Save the World mode, in which the goal was to live for a fortnight. The name was changed to Fortnite, and then Battle Royale was released.
The most difficult mode in Fortnite (not Fortnite: Battle Royale) is one in which you must live for two weeks (14 days and nights). Download and play Fortnite, one of the near popular multiplayer games in the globe, for free . Jump onto a deserted island with 99 other players

At night, there is a lot of fort construction.
I'm guessing it's because it's about building forts at night (the original, not battle royale)?
Fortnight in old English meant fourteen days, and before the battle royale nonsense, you had to build forts using the same building method as the BR game mode, but with a greater focus on traps. You had to defend an objective against husk zombies for around five minutes.
In fact, it does! Save The World is a two-week (or fortnight) game. You must also construct fortifications to defend yourself.
The basic notion of the original game is to construct forts. The waves of monsters and zombies typically assault at night. So Forts + Night = Fortnight, but because that's already a word, they just came up with Fortnite. Also, a fortnight ago, there was a 14-day survival event, which was very terrifying.
It's amazing what our minds can come up with when we give them a reason to think. After a two-week week, the game looks to be called Fortnite.
