The aftermath of the 4th Holy Grail War was felt through all of Japan. The relief and recovery efforts called from the high government and many organizations worldwide, but no company put more effort in than the leading multinational conglomerate, ENCOM. Ten years later, Fuyuki is the epitome of a technological wonder city. Its heart beats ever stronger since the turn of the century, and the innovations from the rise of the Net have pumped new life into its veins.

Shirou Emiya lost his identity ten years ago, but he's taken on his foster father's ideal of becoming a Hero of Justice, one who can save others so nobody can suffer the pain and devastation that he has witnessed. He helps out however he can, whether it's clean-up for when the archery team's done, when the Class Rep needs another pair of hands on deck for errands... or when the Computer team's run into a problem in their network.

A chance encounter with an errant program sends Shirou to a new world that he never knew existed. A digital mirror for the modern world, as wondrous as the imagination can be... and infinitely more dangerous. If he can survive the challenges that await him, Shirou may find that courage he needs to become a hero... and regain that life he lost so long ago.
