I mean, the original post called itself a tldr, so it's possible that TPPR is just misrepresenting what the text he read was. From my own fact-checking I found:
- Portuguese Wikipedia says Typhon ate fruit because he was hungry, but they were Ephemeral Fruits that made him weaker.
- Spanish and English Wikipedias + every English source in the first page of Google say the Fates offered Typhon the Ephemeral Fruit saying it would make him stronger but it actually made him weaker.
- Japanese Wikipedia + every source Japanese source in the first page of Google say the Fates offered Typhon the Fruit of Victory, which made a wish come true, but it was actually the Ephemeral Fruit, that made a wish never come true.
Ephemeros's anti-Grail properties is clearly an invention of the Japanese translator of the myth but it's so ingrained into Japan's understanding of the fruit that it's omnipresent and Wikipedia doesn't feel a need to source this statement, so I'm guessing this comes from the first translation of the myth in the Meiji Period or earlier. I'll try to look more into it.
