Sometimes the mods do stuff we don't agree with and we get mad (and believe me when I say that I've had recent experience of that). But why on earth - on the Internet, for that matter, so it should hardly be that butt hurt-inducing for you - would you get so pissed off as to do this?

It's not even accidentally digging yourself deeper, it's saying "I've started digging a hole, so I'm not going to stop until I hit burning magma." Just climb out of the bloody hole.

I disagree with this entirely. If someone in authority does something which you think is unfair, it's not surprising that you'll get angry about it, because the situation is assymetric. They can do whatever they like with impunity and can entirely ignore any complaints, and not even bother providing a reason, let alone any kind of discussion.

The bullshit here is not the warning, but the reason behind it. Every warning sets a precedent. The warning was not for "Refusing to listen to the thread owner and general asshattery", it was for "Vulgarity". Had it been the former, it'd've been a valid warning. But it wasn't. And now we are to assume Altima's statements about "not wanting to dictate what can be said" is bullshit because apparently swearing is now verboten.

Well, at least Frantic got a reason, even if it's a bullshit one that was quite clearly not thought through....
